Under the auspices of the joint government steering group for data and architecture, have there been developed five recommendations for how and organization can start with good concept and data modelling. A common methodology framework with rules, tools, resources and skills supports the five recommendations.
The following is recommended if an organization wants to work with concept and data models in a uniform and structured way.
- Consider concept and data models as business critical assets
- Place organizational responsibility for concept and data models
- Determine processes, methods and tools for concept and data modelling
- Secure sufficient skills and resources for modelling
- Maintain an overview of the organizations concept and data models
